The Gitananda Tradition of Yoga is a living lineage that focuses on Pranayama and the conscious connection to prana, life force, energy. It has been a real privilege to study this tradition with Yogachariya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani and Yogacharini Deepika, qualifying as one of their 500 hour Pranayama Teachers, and now share these wonderful practices here in the UK.
What is Pranayama?
Pranayama are practices that work with the breath to become more conscious of our prana, or, put more simply, to become more conscious of the fact that we are alive.
Prana is the life force or energy that permeates through us and every other living thing.
In pranayama, breath is the vehicle that takes us towards an understanding of prana.
‘If Yoga is the process of transformation, then the force to create that is prana’
Yogachariya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani
Who are these classes for?
These classes are for anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of breath, prana, energy and life.
